Since coming together from a very early age! To now running a successful business, Liam & Matt consistently deliver a first class performance every time. Ashmore Acoustics have performed to crowds all over the UK and Europe, from high profile overseas corporate events and celebrity weddings to small intimate gigs. Having such a varied list of songs and incorporating timeless and current classics makes their performances very unique. Liam & Matthew pride themselves on their live sound and guarantee to beat even the highest of expectations. As you can see from the picture, Matt didn’t fancy the guitar much and later moved to the drums.
Matthew Ashmore (Drums & Backing vocals)
Matt Ashmore has been a drummer/percussionist in bands and local folk clubs for many years. Matt provides backing vocals and plays the Cajon setup with hi-hats/cymbals (in effect, a small drum kit!) The Cajon has been used to accompany acoustic artists such as Seth Lakeman. Sandy Thom and even rock band Biffy Clyro.
All Matt’s equipment is amplified using AKG d112/ KSM27/57 Shure microphones.
As a duo Matt & Liam produce a full band sound owing to the musical instruments and equipment used.
Liam Ashmore (Guitar & Lead Vocalist)
Guitarist and lead vocalist Liam studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Surrey. His band Cortina cut their first E.P with legendary producer John Etchells (George Harrison/Queen)
After a further two E.P’s, he saw his group ‘Raising Sand’ enter the music video charts (MTV2 & Scuzz TV) and appeared in NME’s cover feature alongside ‘We are Scientists’, ‘Editors’ and ‘The Arctic monkeys’. Raising Sand enjoyed consistent London gigging and summer festivals including a slot supporting the Fun Loving Criminals.
